One thing Americans have seen a month into Donald Trump’s presidency is that he just loves proving people wrong.
So when top economists projected that February would yield 190,000 new jobs, they were way, way off.
ADP, a global human resources and payroll firm, reports that U.S. companies added a stunning 298,000 new jobs in February, beating the job growth projection by more than 100,000.
Construction jobs increased by 66,000 in February, whereas the manufacturing sector added 32,000.
“February proved to be an incredibly strong month for employment with increases we have not seen in years,” Ahu Yildirmaz, vice president of the ADP Research Institute, said in a statement.
‘Businesses are anticipating a lot of good stuff – tax cuts, less regulation. They are hiring more aggressively.’
Better yet, the official U.S. unemployment rate is expected to drop from 4.8 percent to 4.7 percent due to these new numbers showing massive job growth.
